Grapefruit Basil Smash
A garden party in a glass! Here, you get a burst of bright and tangy grapefruit flavour, beautifully balanced by the aromatic essence of basil. The result is a harmonious medley of flavours that invigorates your palate and leaves you feeling revitalized.
What you need
- 2 tsp pink grapefruit balsamic vinegar
- 3 oz coconut water (unsweetened)
- 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- 1 oz sparkling water
- 4-5 basil leaves
What you do
- Muddle the basil leaves, vinegar, coconut water and grapefruit juice together in a shaker with a spoon or muddler.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Put on the lid and shake for 15-30 seconds.
- Fill a cocktail or highball drinking glass with ice and strain the liquid into the glass (optional – can also partially strain or simply pour the mixture into the glass).
- Add soda water and garnish with a fresh grapefruit slice.
- Alternatively, you can add 4 oz of soda water to 1-1.5 tsp of grapefruit vinegar and muddled basil leaves if you don’t have coconut water or fresh grapefruit for a simple and fast option.
