Outdoor Yoga in Niagara

Outdoor Yoga in Niagara

On the Road

trancecarI’m adopting a new title starting right now. Travelling Yogi. My apologies if you or anyone you know labels themselves with the same designation. I love what this classification evokes so I’m going with it; travel and yoga, two of my most  favorite things to do.  While I may not be traveling far to do yoga sometimes, I LOVE the variety of new experiences in new places, meeting new people and trying new things.

It may not surprise you then that I’ll be taking a few of my yoga classes in Jordan on the road this summer.  I have a few precious spots in my area that I’d love to share with anyone who wants to try a few new things, in some stellar spots in Niagara; some of my secret hideaways.

I can’t give away all the details just yet, but I can tell you that the Summer Solstice event at Harbour Estates was a precious experience worth repeating. Although the perfect weather might not be possible to replicate, the location of a hidden park on the edge of the Jordan Harbour surrounded by vineyards is definitely worth visiting, for any activity if you haven’t already been there. The winery often hosts bands on their property in the summer as well as offer picnic lunches paired with wine on the weekends. Drop by and scope them out some time or stay connected with us to join us in future yoga events here.

My next 2 “travelling” classes will be held at Flat Rock Cellars in Jordan.  I’ve chosen to do 2 separate classes here to give you folks an option of a Tuesday or Wednesday night for those that have committments on specific nights. The view from this winery is spectacular; located on the bench of the escarpment overlooking vines,  Lake Ontario and the Niagara peninsula. Breathtaking.

If you have already visited my neck of the woods, you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say that Flat Rock Cellars is captivating. Not only do they have great wine (try their Twisted), they don’t use pesticides which most people don’t know. As a holistic nutritionist, a very important factor when selecting vino. Floor to ceiling windows in the winery provide for panoramic viewing if the weather is not suitable for outdoor yoga on their green roof top. Just wait until you see this little secret gem. I don’t want to spoil it, so you’ll just have to come and see for yourself.  It’s just as it sounds, a grassy knoll on the roof  of a winery, a perfect yoga studio.

The details:

Tuesday July 10th & Wednesday July 25th @ 6:30 pm
$20 gets you 1 hour yoga class, wine tasting, sunset gazing & a private tour of the winery (if you like)
