Matcha Mango Smoothie

Smoothies are a convenient way to get high quality nutrients in to your body in short amount of time. Preparation time is minimal, making them a great option for morning meals or when you don’t have time to prepare a proper meal of whole foods, consider blending them all into a shake.

All you need is a blender or a single serving blender like a Magic Bullet.  You don’t need a fancy blender, any old blender will do the trick, but if you want to invest in a gadget that will last a lifetime and likely become a treasured appliance, you can consider a Vitamix or Blendtec.

Matcha

Matcha is a powerful powdered green tea has a combination of caffeine, l-theanine and antioxidants that provide a stable and extended boost of energy without the anxious jitters or side effects like you may get with coffee or energy drinks, plus it improves focus and mood.

What you need

1 tsp matcha powder (of less if just starting out)

1- 2 cup or handful spinach or kale

1/2 cup mango (I use frozen)

1/2 cup coconut milk

1 c filtered water

Sweetener of choice (couple drops of stevia or raw honey or maple syrup)

Ice cubes

What you do

  •  blend all ingredients together in a magic bullet or blender until all ingredients are well combined and frothy, serve in a fancy glass and enjoy
  • when blending green leafy veggies, it’s helpful to blend the greens and liquid first so you get a creamy texture and smoothie without chunks. This helps even with standard blenders.

Cheers!
